Rose Patrick is the Chief Financial Officer responsible for coordinating and reporting on the financial aspects of our captives, the risk retention group, as well as for Venture Captive Management, LLC. Her role includes having oversight on all the accounting, audit, tax, and financial reporting. She has over 20 years of financial and management accounting experience, as well as auditing experience in various sectors, but primarily in the financial sector.
Rose is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA, UK), with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) experience, who graduated with her Masters in Accounting (Honors) from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. She gained her extensive experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers, The Bank Of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltd., Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance Company Ltd., and since 2009 at Venture Captive Management, LLC in various roles.
Her interests outside of work are playing tennis and travelling.
Ebriam Abdul is a Senior Accountant with over 15 years accounting experience, with extensive knowledge in the Accounts Payable process. He is currently responsible for the accounts payable functions for all our clients, as well as for Venture Captive Management, LLC, along with the responsibility of preparing the monthly account reconciliations, preparation and issuance of the larger captives Financial Statements.
He has an Associate Degree in Accounting at the Ilsa College in Zimbabwe. He gained his accounting experience at Fahlgren Entertainment, Berlin Atlantic Capital, GA Flooring Inc, AFC Worldwide Express, and since 2011 at Venture Captive Management, LLC.
His interests outside of work are hiking, fishing, and camping.
Thelma Wurm is a Senior Accountant with over 20 years of accounting experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, statutory reporting, and insurance accounting. She is currently responsible for the monthly general ledger account reconciliation for some of the larger captives, as well as the Risk Retention Group, preparing and filing quarterly and annual Premium and State Tax Returns as well.
She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Administration degree, with a concentration in Accounting. She gained her vast accounting experience from US Bancorp, Professional Per SE Technologies, Assurant Solutions, and since 2016 at Venture Captive Management, LLC.
Her interests outside of work are travelling.
Amy J. Bohanan is the Captive Manager at Venture Captive Management. She manages all aspects of clients including captive structure, underwriting, rating, policy design, financial reporting, and account management. She works directly with the actuaries for rate and reserve studies and presents to clients. She also manages excess insurance and reinsurance for captive clients.
Ms. Bohanan has experience working with various alternative risk funding structures. Prior to joining VCM, Ms. Bohanan was employed by Marsh as a Client Advisor for a National Group Captive. She was responsible for rating and underwriting services for the captive and pooling structures. She also placed reinsurance for various alternative risk financing structures. She has also been employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers as a risk management consultant responsible for reviewing client’s insurance and claims programs.
Ms. Bohanan holds a BBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia. She has several insurance designations including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
Steven Schroeder joined Venture Captive Management bringing over four decades of insurance experience in the commercial Property & Casualty arena. He has vast working expertise in a variety of commercial casualty underwriting, program development and management, reinsurance, claims handling, risk management, regulatory relations, production relations, and marketing, plus company administration and operations. His experience has been earned in such capacities as that of an Underwriting Manager, Director, Insurance Consultant and a Corporate Officer for some independent insurance agencies, managing general agents, and such insurance companies as American International Group (AIG), Reliance National Insurance Company, plus State insurance regulatory authorities. Before joining VCM, he served a number of years as the Vice President and Director of Underwriting for a Utah based regional Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier.
In his current VCM position he is the General Manager responsible for the daily activities in the operation of the Risk Retention Groups. In addition he acts as a liaison between RRG’s, Associations, Insurance Agents and policyholder insureds.
Steven holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cypress College in California and continues to be long standing licensed insurance producer agent/broker.
Rachel joins the Venture Captive Management team bringing several years of office administrative service experience, including a recent position at an insurance agency. She will be responsible for a variety of company administrative functions to provide operational support for underwriting, accounting, compliance, and the corporate management.
She graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Gwinnett College and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Glenna Pamphile joined Venture Captive Management as a Sr. Casualty Underwriter. Her responsibilities include involvement to both new and renewal risk underwriting, policy management, account administration, claims review, and marketing of Risk Retention Groups and Captive accounts.
Glenna joins Venture Captive Management with a variety of insurance and finance expertise. She brings 11 years of experience partnering with property & casualty insurance carriers, managing general agents, and policy premium finance companies to both standard and excess/surplus lines markets.
Glenna earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from State University of New York at Brockport. She is also holds two Masters Degrees in Human Resource Development from St. John Fisher College and an M.B.A. concentrating on Finance & Risk Management from Capella University. Glenna has been a licensed Property and Casualty agent/broker since 2013 and is currently working to achieve her C.P.C.U. designation.
Matthew Queen is Venture Captive Management’s chief compliance officer and general counsel. He is responsible for regulatory compliance, program development, and claims management for captive insurance companies and risk retention groups. Prior to VCM, Matthew developed his knowledge base by defending multinational corporations in state, federal, and administrative courts and provided state and local tax minimization strategies for Fortune 500 companies as a tax accountant in a Big 4 consulting firm.
Matthew holds an undergraduate degree in business management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and advanced degrees in law and taxation from Georgia State University.
John Robinson is Director of Information Technology responsible for managing the network and data analytics for the risk retention group as well as captive formation and management. His role includes application support/development/implementation and data mining for statistical analysis He has over 27 years of experience as Director of Information Technology in the insurance arena.
John is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, SQL Server Certified database administrator, Cisco Certified CCNA, Crystal Reports master, and Office 360 professional. He gained his extensive experience at The Northern Group as Director of Information Technology managing the technology for an MGA/TPA. To add further experience to his insurance background he joined US Re Corporation in August 2000 as Director of Information Technology. To get an insurance carrier’s perspective John joined Southern Casualty Insurance Company, a non-standard private passenger insurance carrier. John is now a member of our team as Director of Information Technology. John understands what applications drive an insurance company and effectively implements those applications. He is also skilled with relational database technology and data warehousing. These skills enables him slice and dice data for statistical analyses and ad-hoc reporting.
